Philosophy

We love being the conduit between musicians and the recording process. Here are a few things we keep in mind.

A production should tell the same story as the song.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to making music. The same can be said about recording. We strive to customize every aspect of the process to meet the needs of the music at hand.

The recording process should conform to the music, not the other way around.

This might mean encouraging everyone to play together or it might mean overdubbing each performer so we can get their very best. You and your music dictate this, not our preferences.

Every era of music production has something to offer.

Technology and production techniques have changed dramatically since the advent of  music production. Understanding this history opens new dimensions of creative possibilities.

A thorough understanding of sound lets you artfully bend it.

Every type of art requires some level of craftsmanship and technical knowledge. Working with audio as a trade let’s you know the technology well enough to be empowered by it, not limited by it.

Working with a producer helps you focus on your artistry.

There’s no art in capturing a technically good performance. A producer can help you keep perspective between technique and emotion, but only if you trust them and their ears.

"...Will makes it easy. He’s not only good with the gear, he’s good with people. The absolute bottom line is - He’s the best to work with for any audio work you need. Plus, his partner Chloe goes out of her way to make musicians welcome at the studio (good eats!!) and his dog Peggy is integral to the vibe."
